JeSSICA ALBA

Today, Jessica is an extremely successful and confident person that is considered one of the most beautiful women in the world.  However, when Jessica was a kid she was bullied.

Jessica was frequently picked on and ridiculed because she was mixed race and did not wear fashionable clothes. On one occasion, Jessica was badly beaten up by the bullies.  From then on, her father had to walk her to school each day.

“I was bullied really badly at school. My dad had to walk me there so I didn't get attacked. I'd eat my lunch in the nurses' office so I didn't have to sit with the other girls. I'd get beaten up and picked on all the time. It was about being different and not fitting in. Apart from my being mixed race, my parents didn't have money, so I never had the cute clothes or the cool backpack.”

"I'm tough now because as a kid I never fought back. I tried to keep everything inside because I didn't want to lower myself to the level of the bullies. I feel so bad for any kid who is getting bullied. I've been there. I know how much it hurts and I know how it affects you."

Justin timberlake

Although Justin is now a famous and successful singer and actor, he had a rough time as a kid. One of the main reasons bullies targeted him was because of his love of music.

"Growing up in school, no one ever called me anything close to an innovator, they called me different, they called me weird, they called me a couple of other words I can't say on TV.  So thankfully my mother taught me that being different was a good thing, that being different meant you could actually make a difference, so tonight I want to thank my mom."

rihanna

Although Rihanna is considered one of the most beautiful women in the world, when she was growing up she was bullied because of her light complexion and green eyes.

taylor swift

Taylor Swift was bullied by a group of popular girls at school after they decided she wasn't cool enough to hang around with any more because she liked country music. It reached a point where no one would sit with Taylor at lunch because she was branded as being “weird.” However, although the experience was painful, the bullies gave Taylor the inspiration to start writing songs.

“Junior high was actually sort of hard because I got dumped by this group of popular girls. They didn't think I was cool or pretty enough, so they stopped talking to me. The kids at school thought it was weird that I liked country [music]. They'd make fun of me."

According to Taylor’s mom, Andrea:

“My worst time of day was when I used to pick Taylor up from school. I would know things hadn’t been great. Literally, the shunning that would take place at school – she would sit down at lunchtime and everyone would move.”
